Obergefell v. Hodges was three years ago today, 14 days after the pulse nightclub shooting on Latinx Night. In 2 days it will have been 49 years since the Stonewall riots against violence, specifically police violence, towards the LGBT community.

A lot of beautiful things have happened for us. And it’s important to celebrate that without caring about retaliation, especially for those who have to care to preserve their safety.

This community has given me the confidence to be myself, and taken me from darkness into beautiful, rainbow lights.

Never forget Sylvia Rivera. Never forget Marsha P. Johnson. Never forget the 49 people who died 14 days away from feeling the elation of the supreme court decision.

Party hard and party with PRIDE. But never forget why we party. We’ve been at rock bottom and we’ve come so far, but we still have a long way to go.
